Twenty five years ago, the original version of We are the World was recorded by 43 artists, to benefit the people of Africa. Written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie, the song went quadruple Platinum – selling 20 million copies.

The 2010 version of “We are the World” was performed by 81 stars for the benefit of earthquake victims in Haiti. Artists involved include, Akon, Barbra Streisand, Busta Rhymes, Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias,Faith Evans, Gladys Knight, Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson, India Arie, Jamie Foxx, Jason Mraz, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas
Nicole Richie, Pink, Randy Jackson, Raphael Saadiq, Rob Thomas, Snoop Dogg, The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, Toni Braxton, Tony Bennett, T-Pain, Usher, Vince Vaughn, Will.i.am, Wyclef Jean and latest one hit Grammy wonders, the Zac Brown Band.
