H&M Launching Eco-Friendly Conscious Clothing Collection

H&M recently announced their H&M Conscious Collection, which will launch on April 14th in all H&M stores. The line will include clean, white looks for women, men and children. From their press release:

“Sustainability is always in fashion at H&M. This April H&M, as part of its focus on sustainability, will introduce Conscious Collection, an ongoing range for women, men and kids, made from environmentally-adapted and greener materials such as organic cotton. The collection is made from environmentally adapted and sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, Tencel ® and recycled polyester. H&M’s in-house designers have been inspired by different shades of white, one of this spring’s most important colors. A minimalist, tailored look is combined with romantic lace, broderie anglaise, frills and draping.”

H&M head of design, Ann-Sofie Johansson, said about the line: “The possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections, we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics.”

Angella Hlymbicky, a Vancouver Wardrobe Consultant, had this to say about the new line: “This is a great line since most of the collection is made up of minimalist, simplistic pieces that could fit into anyone’s wardrobe. And the collection is completely white, which makes it more classic.”

Design Suzy Amis-Cameron’s Eco-Friendly Oscar Dress

It’s no secret that James Cameron is ecolicious and now, just in time for the upcoming Oscars, his lovely wife Suzy Amis Cameron is having another green competition for green designers to design her a one-of-a-kind eco-friendly dress to be worn on the red carpet.

The competition, entitled Red Carpet, Green Dress, also raises money for the MUSE Global program, which helps fund schools in Thailand for refugee children from Burma.

The winning designer not only gets the exposure of having their dress be a fixture on the Red Carpet at the 2011 Academy Awards, but a $2,000 cash prize, a four-night stay at the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, a visit to MUSE headquarters, and an invitation to the Global Green pre-Oscar party.

Want to enter? Better hurry! The submission deadline is Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 5pm, Pacific Standard Time.

Pamela Anderson to Launch Eco-Friendly Fashion Line ‘Muse’

Although celebrity fashion lines have been more “miss” than “hit,” Pamela Anderson is taking a whack at it – green style.

Anderson is teaming up with fashion designer Richie Rich for a line of environmentally-friendly fashion.

The line named “Muse” will be vegan and feature leather-free shoes and casual clothes, including hooded tops, skirts and swimwear.

“I really don’t like to wear clothes. I would rather go naked. But I love Richie’s designs, so I agreed to be part of Muse,” Anderson said.

Muse by Pamela Anderson and Richie Rich will debut this summer.
