The national debt clock started in 1989 with a value of $2.7 trillion. In September 2008 it was $10 trillion. That's a $7.3 trillion increase over 19 years (or 228 months).

Our debt has increased $1.5 trillion in the last TEN MONTHS. That is $150 billion a month. Multiply $150,000,000,000 x 228 months and you get $34.2 TRILLION dollars.

Obama has been in office for 6 of the last 10 months, and we've had a Democratic congress (ding ding ding) for the last two years of the Bush presidency. You'll remember that Congress is the group of people who proposes and passes new bills, including spending bills. If we spent over the last 19 years like we have in the last 10 months, we would be $34.2 trillion in debt as a nation. Sounds like a great idea.

As it stands, your children (if you have any) owe $30,000 as their part of the U.S. national debt, and you do too.

Still think he's great because he's good with a teleprompter and talks about hope and change? Change is all you'll have left in your pockets when he's done with his pork bills, and hope is the only thing you've got to get you through the days. You can't eat hope.
