Lockheed Santa Cruz Fires 5 Percent Contained


Houses are being threatened in the Santa Cruz  Mountains as fires have forced the evacuation of 2,400 people from their homes. With winds blowing, the fires grew overnight to 4,100 acres as hundreds of firefighters attempted to calm the flames, which are reportedly only 5 percent contained.

China Typhoon Morakot Kills at Least Four


Tragedy struck China this morning as Typhoon Morakot overtook Taiwan killing at least four, leaving 31 missing and sending over one million fleeing their homes.
